Number of days after my children go away that I burst into sobbing, heaving hysterical tears after hanging up the phone from them:
Four.

In other news, thank you so much Niihaus for nominating my post "The Truth About Two" for a Perfect Post award this month. It made me have to click over to that post and read it again to see just what you liked about it, making me cry again. I think I'm just going to skip the mascara today altogether. Maybe even for the next six days.

That was indeed a lovely post.
Sorry you're missing your picknies. (That's what we call our kid sometimes, our pickney). They'll be home soon.
Congrats on the perfect post award. I'm afraid to click back on it, for fear that I'll cry...but I know you deserve it.
You are almost halfway there. I know it's not like having them home today, but it's still something. Hang in there, they'll be back bugging you before you know it.
Congrats! Well deserved. I cried when I read your post too.
I am so, so sorry you miss them so badly. Only a few more left...
Just think of how happy and joy-filled you'll be when they come back. Any annoyances like a child sleeping in your bed and kicking you all night long will seem charming and adorable!
Can you rearrange your schedule to perhaps fly up and join them for the end of the vacation?
Alternatively, perhaps plan something really fun to do with them when they return. Something to look forward to.
It took you four days? I had you sobbing hysterically into your keyboard at two.
It is out-of-this-world incredible how much we miss them when they're gone, isn't it? Keep busy, sweetheart.
You make it four whole days? How do you do it?
Congrats on the perfect post!

yay! totally deserved. though I don't think it will trump my award calling you "brillante", LOL
Congrats on your perfect post.
It must be lonely with the kids gone... ((hug)). They'll be home before ya' know it.
that was a really great post! Congrats on the recognition!
Awww. It must be really hard. It'll be over soon, if you can just hang in there.
I usually burst into tears as soon as they are dropped off and we are out of their sight.
as you know, i am mostly heartless - esp. when it comes to a break from my kid, but this week i'd be content to have her attached to my right hip. read tony's blog to get a better sense why. so, yes, miss your girls but consider how great it will be to have them back. hope all is well.
I loved that post. Congratulations on a well deserved award.
Congrats on the award. You also deserve a 'tough cookie' award just for being able to hang up the phone in the first place.
Oh, I am so sorry. It is very difficult. Hang in there girl.
Congrats on the award!
Awwww. Not too much longer.
I was going to recommend the telephone "stall tactic" that I attempted on my daughter, who has now been enjoying college for 18 days, but it did not work too well. My questions were very dull..."how was doing your own laundry, what did you eat for dinner last night"? Don't you just miss hearing their voice and their laughter?
