A castle! A castle!

The one hard thing about visiting a magical place without your children, is visiting a magical place without your children.

I told Thalia that I'd be visiting a real castle today, where princesses used to live, and she declared that "Princesses are only make believe." I realized that in her world, imaginary critters include unicorns, monsters, fairies, princesses, and children who eat things besides peanut butter. Explaining that no, there actually are real live princesses pretty much blew her mind.

Sage only wanted to tell me knock-knock jokes on the phone.

Knock knock?

Who's there?

Lightbulb who?

Lightbulb goes on, lightbulb goes off.

She takes after her sister.

Meanwhile I can't stop taking photos with the Hipstamatic, every since Kristen told me about it.

See? Magical.

Have fun storming the castle!

(It's really hard to make the guards in their Carolina blue uniforms laugh. But it can be done.)

Hey, that's a pretty good joke. My son tells me the same joke every.single.day. "What's a volcano?" "A mountain with hiccups." It actually was funny the first 9,732 times.

I hope you're having the most wonderful time in castles, even sans your magical children.

It's funny, but I don't even have an iPhone yet. Not until July. But that app? I wrote it down, the first time I saw it on someone's blog.

I hope you're having a blast. If I didn't like you so much, I'd really despise you right now. Ha.

Prague. Sigh.

Wow. I thought that photo was a painting. Beautiful. It sucks to not be bake to share something like that with your kids instantly. But it's nice to be able to revel in beauty alone as well. Because, let's face it. The opportunities to be alone doing anything are few...

Yeah, that was supposed to say able not bake. Damn autocorrect.

I may have to change the tagline of my blog to the first sentence of your post.

Teddy likes to get on the phone and peep at me like he's a little chick when I'm away.

Glad you made it and are having fun. Hope the volcano holds off until you make it home and that the rest of your trip is full of unicorns and rainbows.

You're lucky your children speak to you 'long distance'. Mine used to breathe into the phone. I would talk, and pause for them to say something back. They would just breathe.
