Six Degrees of Holy Crap
Nate: You know that guy, that bouncer who raped and killed that woman?
Me: Yeah, he was just indicted today.
Nate: Well you know where he worked?
Me: In Soho?
Nate: At my Redskins bar. Where I went every Sunday.
Me: Oh my God.
Nate: I know.
Me: Did you have any contact with him?
Nate: Well once he almost threw me out of the bar because I got pissed and threw my hat and it hit the TV.
Me: Oh my God.
Nate: Yeah.
(beat)
Me: Don't do that anymore.
Me: Yeah, he was just indicted today.

never good when you know of the people that are evil!! scary!
Hold on a sec! Nate's a Redskins fan? Et tu?
Whawha??? That's fucked up. The Redskins part I mean.
Yuk. Too close for comfort.
Makes me glad I live out in the sticks...The crazies don't live out here, they just like to come out here to dump the bodies...
I know what you mean about the crazies living where you are. Yesterday I picked up a St. Louis Post and saw on the front page how two workers at some sort of center put a 35 year-old retarded man in 140 degree bath water. It killed him. He was about 3 feet tall and only 80 pounds. (He got menengitis when he was about 3-ish. So it stunted his mental and physical growth.) He couldn't talk but his mother said he could yelp, scream and grunt.
Can you imagine? I was getting the oil changed in my car while I was reading this. I had to stop reading at one point because my eyes were tearing up!
I just don't understand how people can be so violent and cruel.
The crazies...they often walk among us. I wonder what the neighbors of that old man who shot the teenager for walking on his lawn are saying now.
oy to the mutha-effing vey!
I think you have to know you two to appreciate how hysterical that posting is....keep it up.
i don't know the two you, but i still think this post is pretty dang hysterical! your dry sense of humor definitely works for me... and i whole-heartedly agree with anonymous (who, apparently does know the two of you)...keep it up!
I'm suddenly feeling very thankful for the crazies of my world... Bush diehards, moose hunters, Bronco fanatics and such.
things like that are freaking surreal. when you realize you had contact with the person.. or knew the person or whatever. that whole story makes me so sick
A friend once introduced me to his father-on-law. Three weeks later that same father-on-law was featured on America's Most Wanted for several bank robberies. His family had no idea. He apparently got away with thousands and yet his wardrobe still wreacked of Goodwill throw-aways. Go figure.
Eek. Several guys I went to school with ended up in prison for drug or assault charges, but none did anything that crazy. But trust me, we have our own share of crazies here in Ohio. Heck the highway overpass shooter lived very close to where we live.
Terrance loves regaling me with his Uncle the Detroit Pimp stories. Apparently he was shot to death in a Barber's chair.
Catherine,
Bronco fanatics are very normal people.
It's a small world. You have to figure people once knew Jeffrey Dommer and Ted Bundy too. You don't generally know how crazy a person really is. And Um, yeah, maybe your husband should consider himself lucky.
I knew a freaky killer once...lived down the street....freaks ya out...
BTW.They have Redskins bars? Why, do Redskins fans get thrown out of normal bars?
I've known some freaky crazies in my life, but never met a killer (to my knowledge - sometimes you just never know).
Does it say something that he worked in a Redskins bar? LOL
Fucking-A, you've got me beat. My former co-workers only got indicted for money laundering. Oh, and one shot himself in the foot. Literally.
That's scary. You just never know.
Shoot. If Nate had known the guy was a psycho, he could have introduced him to the Purpose- Driven Life. Maybe he could have been saved. Or not.
Oooohhh...scary.
I didn't realize he was indicted. Let's hope they put him away. (The bouncer, not your husband.)
Hey t., my friend lived out in the stick of Montana with hubby and 2 kids and had the neighbor over for dinner a few times...he turned out to be the UnaBomber.
I, on the other hand, was unaccountably disinclined to go to this restaurant very near my house...and it was run by Scott (and Lacey) Peterson. I guess I have good creep-out instincts.
Among my readers, it seems we have six degrees of pimps, money launderers, snipers, convicted drug dealers, assorted felons, one America's Most Wanted criminal, and the Unibomber.
I always knew you guys were special. I just didn't know how special.
Hey, my freaky killer was a famous one too...that Darlie Routier chick that stabbed her two boys to death...she lives s couple of blocks away from my parents.
See the lovely folks your blog attracts? You must really rock! LOL
The question is ...Will Nate go back to the bar? once I am creeped out about a place it messes me up. Even though Bouncer Bob is gone he could have had help from a co-worker . See ...I could be a P.I.
Anyone who can make us laugh until our stomaches hurt and in the next blog cry as we feel your pain can't be all bad all the time. By the way, these word vertifications are unbelievable after you've had a glass of wine. Who thinks these things up anyway?
